- over 150,000 First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students would attend.
- About 80,000 are still alive today.
-  32,00 students died at the schools from 1867-2000
- They weren't allowed to tell their parents about any of the bad things.
-  there were 31, 970 sexual assault claims

They also went to the extreme measures. Such as bathing them in toxic chemicals to lighten their skin. They also cut their hair,And binded girl's chests down to make them feel ashamed for their maturing bodies. 

    All aboriginal children were often taken from their home as school antecedence was mandatory for the children. If the Cinderellas parents tried to save their kids they were beaten and arrested and were often put in jail because the judge was unfair in court. aboriginal people were often given incorrect information about the residential school and did not get an opinion on school. and gifts sent from aboriginal parents were not given to their children because they believed it would have some evil cures. Kids take care of the school and were beaten if they did not commit.

    Question: Why is there still a debate on residential schools when most of them are shut down?
