Low key lighting is a style of lighting in photography, television, film. Low key lighting oftenly uses only one source of light. The style can add drama/ darkness to the image instantly. If used correctly low key lighting creates striking contrasts.

Aperture: For my FMP i am going to use an aperture of F5.6 to allow more light through the camera.

ISO: For the Iso I'm going to use an ISO of around 400-800 to create tone, noise in the image.

Shutter speed: I will be using a fast shutter speed as i want the image to be in focus without blur. The slower the shutter speed the more blurry the image will be an out of focus it will get.

Black an White Effect

Using Black an white effect create a darker/ dramatic effect to the image. It also creates more tone into the image. In my opinion of this image the shadows around her face stand out more than if the image was in colour due to the harsh tones around her cheek bones. Also the black an white effect brings out the womens highlight in her hair as the tones in her hair are different shades in some places her hair is lighter an in other places her hair is darker.

Colour in Low key Lighting

In my opinion using colour in Low key lighting it has the opposite effect than black an white the colour makes the image more lively where as black an white creates a dark/ dramatic effect using colour in low key lighting brings the image to life due to the different tones. In this image the middle of the face is ighter than any other part of the image. The light would of been positioned to create the harsh darkness on the left side of the face.
