The author made reference to making the vocabulary sticky, this is something I do in my classroom frequently. My students are young and they hold new vocabulary according to how I deliver the word. I agree with using the words is a funny way or in a personal story to get students to remember the language.

The article spoke of teachers assessing their students before, during and after teaching academic language to collect data and identify students who required additional support. Could this data be presented to have students standardized assessments altered. Teachers are already aware of their students deficient areas, to test them while knowing their performance outcomes and being unable to assist has to be difficult for teachers in these types of situations.
