Studies made to support that violence in video games affect youth by causing them to be more aggressive are often short term. Thus, there is not as much evidence for what violent games do for teenagers in the long run. However, a German study was conducted to see whether people who regularly play violent games had the same empathetic levels as a person who did not. The results: the level of empathy from each person was around the same amount. Thus, video games do not cause players to be violent.
