She has begun to realize that she loves Reyn and he's who she wants. She has worked on herself and she has changed from the beginning of this series to now.

Reyn- Is the love of Nasty, he has been by her side throughout the whole book and fighting for her love. He had a rough past and is learning to deal with it.

River- She is the woman who runs the place both Nasty and Reyn stay, which is called Rivers Edge. She is very sweet and smart and always giving chance after chance after chance to everyone especially Nasty and working to better her students.

-River asks Nasty to think of a project to take on and she ends up buying empty run down buildings in town to fix up.
-The last and third brother that came has caused Reyn to act weird and later find out that they had almost a secret rivalry in a way, which after having a sword battle against one another, they seemed fine later on.
-Nasty received a package and inside was the head of her ex-best friend's head. and this was when all began to get crazy.
-Cars began to act weird, not starting, not turning off, even exploding into flames. One car got Nasty into a wreck from not allowing her to stop. These things were from black magic.
-Crops and all food, even all their chickens were dead and rotten one morning after being perfectly fine the night before. This was also nothing other than black magic.
-All of the people in Rivers Edge work hard to protect their home along with putting together magic circles.
-Later on Nasty is so worried that it was her who messed up the circle but they soon find out that there is a traitor within RIver's Edge.
-The night that the enemies attacked Nasty figured out who was the traitor. It was one of River's three brothers. He attacked Nasty and in that moment she knew. A friend helped and knocked him out.
-Once tying the bother up and taking him inside was when the enemies began clotting through the forest.
-Although Nasty and Reyn were very distant towards each other most of the time, They realize they couldn't stand to live without each other the moment the enemies were upon them.
-By the end of the book, the enemies were defeated but two good character's lives were taken in the battle. The leaders of the enemies were taken captive alive to be prisoners.

Much time is pent at RIver's Edge hoping to stay safe from a threatening source directed towards those staying there. The struggle wasn't from Reyn but from Nasty feeling she would screw it all up and hurt him and her in the end so she was hard headed about it all. This conflict was definitely a person vs self conflict simply because Nasty was afraid of doing what she had always done in the past which was messing things up and hurting others and herself. In the end she excepted that Reyn excepted her for her and everything that came with her and knew what he was getting into and she expected it and let that fear go.

-Near the end of the book River's Edge is attacked and goes under war per say against a larger number of enemies attacking. This would be a person vs person conflict. The effort you put in will earn you what you deserve.

In this book Nasty works hard in occupying herself in order to learn herself more and change who she is, in this case she chose to fix up buildings and help those in needs of jobs to work. The author's writing brought me into the book and I couldn't put it down. I also give the author much credit for ending not only the book, but the series well.
