         <description><![CDATA[<p>My biggest takeaway from reviewing the resources was the fact that self-care is actually an ethical requirement for school counselors. While I knew self care was important, I didn't realize it was prioritized at such a high level by the people setting standards for the profession.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Even from my position as a teacher, I can recognize my own thresholds of giving to my students and needing refreshment. It makes sense as a counselor (or other helping professions), when truly the entire position is giving to others, that burnout could occur quickly without implementation of self care.</p>]]></description>

         <title>My Self Care Strategies</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Some self care strategies I've developed for myself and will continue to use include walking outside and cooking. Especially when the weather is pleasant, I have found that walking has a profound effect on my mental and physical health. I also think the creative yet mechanical process of cooking relieves my stress (and makes me feel productive). </p>]]></description>
