The switches are used to input values, and the buttons are used to perform functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). LEDs display inputted values and output solutions.</div><div>I designed and tested the logic behind the binary calculator in Simulink before using JTAG to program the FPGA.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This drone is designed to be used by hikers as a modern alternative to the flare gun.&nbsp;</div><ul><li>The drone uses a GPS module to pinpoint the location of the hiker within a 5 meter radius.</li><li>The Adafruit RFM95W LoRa 900Hz radio transceiver breakout module was used to burst the signal across a 2 km range.</li><li>The one-button functionality was designed to easily start the drone in emergency situations.</li><li>The flight controller help stabilize and autopilot the drone and the ultrasonic sensors help detect the obstacles vertically above it.</li><li>The strobe light was added to make the drone visible late at night and communicate distress signals to near-by rangers.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <title>Line following; Solving a maze</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The RC car is retrofitted with IR sensors on the front-bottom to detect the difference between the dark and light portions of the maze.<br>The tape representing the line, is laid out to deliberately confuse the robot, forcing it to get stuck in a loop. In order to solve this maze, the robot has been programmed to navigate past the loops, regardless of the end of the maze it begins from.<br>An Arduino is used to control the three motors and program the motors to move in different torque depending on the IR sensor values. These adjustments allowed the RC car move left and right along the line.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Making the Rube Goldberg Machine was one of the fondest memories of my undergraduate career. We used wood 3D printers to create unique parts of the machine, which would work together to propel the small ball forward.<br>The live hinge was designed to be flexible and light, with enough strength to be easily held together, given the limited materials allotted for this project.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This board design was created for KEA Technologies' patented breath alcohol testing device, which can be incorporated directly into any motor vehicle.&nbsp;<br>BITSI was constructed to control and communicate with the solenoid next to the gear of the car.&nbsp;<br>If the reading on the sensors detects the driver is intoxicated, the data coming from the DAS (Data Acquisition System) will give the information to BITSI, which will activate the solenoid to stop the gear from changing, and effectively disabling the vehicle. </div>]]></description>
