I think that languages should be preserved instead of making them existent. Yes, life would be much easier if we all spoke the same language and could all understand each other. However, the language you speak is a part of you and the world. There are over 7,000 different languages being spoken right now and some people thing we should get rid of 6,999 of them. Different languages are a thing to be celebrated not something to throw away. If we all spoke one language we would be getting rid of many things. Including the things that makes us unique, traditions, stories, history, and everything else that we have discovered.

I think dying languages are worth saving. A few things to take into consideration: if we all spoke one language more relationships would occur simply because it would be easier to communicate around the world with a potential partner. This would lead eventually to new families and a fast growing population everywhere. The world we currently have in some parts can barely keep up with the children and people they have so it wouldn't be fair to raise these new children in crowded apartments and have little food because of the lack of space on the earth for them. Another thing to consider: More jobs would occur which could be a positive but as more people enter the workforce some employers may not have the means to evenly and fairly pay each employee. At least with a stable income. Dying languages like the article says also convey a story about the language. Children hundreds of years from now may not have the chance to learn about where we have come from or where we are going.

I think a global language could be very interesting because it would enable us to communicate and cooperate better with those around us. It would also save money. I think that in the future we should make it a goal to teach all children more than one language. If they were to be taught their parents native language at home as well as the global language at school, this would keep dying languages alive as well as promote coope
ration in the world. But in teaching this global language, this would also strip children of their identity. They would lose a piece of their culture and history. It's also for this reason that I think we should definitely save any dying languages, To preserve culture and stories.

We should absolutely work to preserve all global languages. While there are some theoretical benefits to having one blanket language for the world, in doing that we lose much more. It's an unequal trade, stories, history, technology, a sense of identity, just for life to be less colorful and more simple. Even if people don't speak them anymore, it's at least important to document them to use if the language wants to be revived, or could be used to unravel another mystery or language. Language is at the heart of our existence, and needs to be protected. Additionally, with the convenience of having a global language, in this day and age, even with language barriers, they aren't that hard to get over. With apps for learning, dictionaries, incresing numbers of resources online and not, learning a language isn't that big of a task for those who are willing to pursue it.

I think that the people of the dying languages should have a say in wether or not the world gets rid of them. I believe that it should be the dying languages culture to decide if they want to keep it and introduce it to their children, grandchildren and etc. People say why is it worth saving, and I believe that if we say that we shouldn't save it then what else will we not save.

I think that we should try to save as many different languages as we can. Even though thousands have already been forgotten I think that we should attempt to save the ones that are being used now. I am not saying that we would not benefit if everyone spoke the same language but if that were to happen I think that everyone would lose a sense of community. So I am going to say that by saving all of the different languages that are covering the world would be the smartest and most rational decision.
