My friend and I were really little at the time, we were about 3 or 4, so she wouldn't have been able to clean after it either.

Even though he's old enough to take care of one the apartment complex won't allow it due to allergies that people have who also live there.

Even though I was young, I was still old enough to take care of a pet but because we were in tough times we couldn't get one. We also didn't have time. Both my parents were always working and I had school for the whole day so there wouldn't have been anyone to take care of it.
