This means that this methodology is efficient when teachers together create a curriculum and all of them work to let students achieve objectives and competences which have to be presented and shared with the stuents too.

For me the most challenging part of using PBL approach is the rigid summative assessment that is imposed at a certain time of the school year . It happened that my students work in compliance with the PBLapproach, in groups. It takes time for them to get organized in groups to get everyone a role in the group and to take the task seriously

my students expect that the “good teacher” is the one who tells them what to do, no choice , no debate. In fact another challenge is the lack of ideas, or if some of them have any idea, he/ she refuses to express it because of lack of self-confidence, fear of making mistakes, or because he/ she fears to sound fool. Finally when the activities are progressing well, The summative assessment

period arrives and I have to turn it into numbers/ scores.

Of course I have got lots of feed back and data to assess my students. Yet, my stydents themselves are the obstacle because they believe that the traditional way of assessing : asking for facts, knowledge, is the most reliable way to be assessed

I am very fond of E-twinning. I have been running e-twinning project for several years now. I agree with te fact that this safe site and community gives students a strong motivation for language improvement but also in self-evaluation and cooperation, They work in groups which is useful to let everyone feel having a role and a goal to achieve according to their natural inclinantions. Moreover the fact that they interact with real students makes their work meaningful . Also, they want to do well, they ask me to correct their own texts, they put lots of energy and efforts to produce nice interesting and attractive outputs, which indeed they do. Their creativity can be easily expressed by working in E-twinning. In conclusion the students have lots of benefits, they improve social , linguistic digital and literacy competences as well as enterpreuneurship one. As for networks of local professionals there are some which regularly work with our students, they are generrally sport clubs or art clubs but I think that No PBL approach is used in this kind of experience , so it is not always so attractive for students to follow and to learn.

In short it depends on the kind of outputs the students are asked to produce.I regret that there a lot of this tools which have to be paid and this is not possible for a school or a teacher. I am very sad because I used Tacckk for writing learning diaries for myself and for my students. Suddenly, this tool was shut down without any possibility to get our work back, as far as I know.
This is not fair. the same thing happened with titanpad which was something similar to wikispace.com.

Resilience and persistance is in my opinion part of one's personality but may be failure and difficulties sometimes turn into opportunity for developing self-confidence and success,on condition that a person is strong enough not to give up.
When I was a student I was not very good at languages and at foreign languages. I felt very sad but I had no encouragement form my teachers who did not care about my interests. However, in spite of the fact that I could not get good scores, I wanted to achieve my goal which was to become able to speak and understand native speakers, I studied a lot but , now I understand that it depended on the type of methodology and the inefficient pedagogical approach, So I decided to work part time and save to afford travelling to England and attend a paying summer school. I did this for several years till I leaarned the language, but not only. Indeed I made a lot of friends, developed a more open mind and intercultural competences . In this way, I got my objective. I never regret the difficulties I had to overcome for several years before I got to my goal.

I think that some strategies are ecessary to be taken into consideration by teachers if they really want to develop resilience in their students.
1) Teachers should let students choose because this creates a sense of ownership and also makes them responsible and autonomous learners Moreover,. Providing opportunities to choose topics of interest stimulates students’ natural curiosity and eagerness to learn.
2.They should be given a precise role role as agent .
3.Rewarding success with praise is also a way to help students get resilience
4) Get students accept failure and understand that failure is necessary to stenghthen their personality; Let them accept that mistakes have to be turned into learning opportunities ;
5) Teach students to controll the negative emotions that can interfere with learning.

Are you free to assess students in any way you want?Yes, I am because in my school assessment is only formality, so is not meant to measure learning. This is a pity, The students the day they have to have a test feel too much anxious, this makes them get a performance not so good as they could because they can't control their emotions!!! I think that this is the school/ Institution responsability, and it causes lots of problems among students, teachers and families.

Or do you have to follow a strict testing system with regular standardised tests every few months? Yes we are expected to test students at the end of every module but I do not care so much because I am interested in the students learning rather than in the quantity of teaching I can provide my students .
What types of assessment are common at your school/in your country?
Very traditional tests not related to reality and based on content / knowledge measurement
Do you collaborate with colleagues when it comes to assessment?
No, because most of them work on their own, unfortunately we rarely work in team

Yet, I know that peer assessment is vey useful because it lets students reflect and also understand the difficulties of evaluting someone's work. It is a seriou task indeed . Moreover peer evaluation has to be structured very carefully and the teacher has to be very professionally prepared in order to create and select the most appropriate and reliable criteria.
I found the ladder of feedback useful and I am going to read more to understand it more deeply
