A set of philosophies popularized by figures such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Immanuel Kant, and Theodore Parker which focused on the power, uniqueness, and reliance of the individual self on one's intuitive abilities. These beliefs focus primarily on naturalistic ideas and the prosperity that comes with keeping oneself close to nature along with the healing, peace, and contentment that comes with living simultaneously with the earth. These philosophies were created in order to better understand religion, the spiritual realm, a person's inner being, and furthermore, how to live life whilst relying entirely on one's own knowledge and understanding of the world.
