Reducing concepts such as competition and standarized testing is basically getting rid of stress inducing factors for students. A lot of the reason why students in America struggle in school is because of anxiety. However, eliminating sources that are only causing a decrease in a student's joy, will only be beneficial. They can start being happy and enjoying the school environment again.

Treating everyone the same

No standardized exams allows everyone to be judged on a much more balanced scale. Not everyone is good at these tests and it is hard to judge a person's intelligence through a test score. This makes everyone more capable of being treated the same.
