The teacher helps them every time they get stuck and corrects their pronunciation. They speak in English and Spanish. The use of mother tongue is present only when children do not understand a word or an activity and to analyse contexts. Every time a learner finished his/her presentations their classmates clapped.

The teacher took pictures of students while they were doing their presentation.

For those who couldn’t do their posters the teacher asked them to do it for next class.

The teacher started with a new topic “the family”, she played a video about family members. It showed them vocabulary about family members with pictures then children listened and repeated them and they were asked to do a worksheet in which they had to write the family members. As they finish the worksheets they say: “all set, teacher. Can you correct?” Then they did self-correction. 

The classroom has a book called “Team Together 1”. They worked with unit 4 “Meet my family” At the beginning they analysed the picture in the first page which is a picnic and locate the book’s characters. To this analysis, they reviewed prepositions of place. The next activity “time to stick!” is a didactic way of learning vocabulary. The book contains stickers with pictures in which they stick in the correct place then they listen and say.

Break time: At 10.20 a.m. they have 5 minutes of break. In which they go out and play in the garden.

After the break time, the lesson continued by doing an activity book exercise. It is about family members it has pictures in which they had to look and match. 

Sometimes the teacher makes mimics when she needs to explain or ask about something. While students do the activities she puts quiet music. Children ask for help if they do not understand something. 

For homework, learners had to draw their family tree and their member’s names.

Children were asked to bring their family’s picture for next class and some colour papers, paints and other materials to make a collage for child’s day. 

Students arrived at the classroom. It started by doing a review. They did a picture description and used the board to have some help. “On the right, I can see my mum” they said.

Students took their family picture. Each of them presented their families in front of the class and showed the image pointing out to the member they were talking about. In the activity book exercise they have to do a very similar activity but taking account the book’s picture.

Following with the book the teacher played a video of a story, they analysed its context as a pre- task, watched the story and answered some questions about it. After that they read the dialogues, each learner had his/her turn. Sometimes utterances needed to be translated to being understand by the children.

The teacher mentioned the importance of being patient, respectful and waiting for their turn because her students seemed to be very anxious for participate. They also did two reading- comprehension activities on the book. They helped themselves by looking at the story in the student’s book.

While learners were doing the exercises, the teacher wrote a reminder on the board. She asked to them to bring people pictures for next class. The correction of the activities was done orally and then the teacher checked it one by one. 

Many students look for teacher’s opinion, others wait anxiously the break time.

They followed the class with a worksheet in which they had to read a description and guessed which member of the family is and then matched it to the image. 

After break time, children were asked to sit on the floor, the teacher sat in front of them and took a small book with her hands called “The Ants’ party”, a story from Macmillan. The first they did was analyse the cover page as a pre- reading task. The teacher made questions such as: “what can you see? Are the ants small? Or big? Which are the ants’ colours? Are they happy? Where are they? Passing through the next page, it says: “The ant’s name is Andy”. 

While the teacher was reading the first page, she made mimics and added some sentences like: “It’s an invitation!!” Children repeated this page and they also acted this dialogue 3 times then worked in an activity the teacher gave them: a true or false activity.

To finish with the class, children watched a video “The cookie jar” which they already known so they sang and danced it.

Before saying goodbye, the teacher remembered them to do their homework which was sent via WhatsApp to their parents.

After the preparation stage, she explained the “have/has” rule and when they could need it. The class continued with another game. But this time speaking skills were developed because it was an oral game. In each turn, children should choose one classmate or teacher and, without saying his/her name, described his/her to the rest of their classmate guess who is the student described. 

Following with this topic, children took the people magazine pictures the teacher had asked. They glued it and described the people they had in the picture. As some of them forgot the images, those students who had more than one picture borrow them at least one to continuing with the activity. As usual, while children do tasks, the teacher plays quite music. She also checks how they work and if they have any doubt. 

Then they took the student’s book and do a listening-comprehension activity.

In the book, there was the song letter with four pictures of four children and according the song description they should identify who is the song describing and circle them. 

After five minutes of break, they followed with activity book in which they had to complete a crossword which topic was parts of the body. Bellow it there is a picture of a girl and a description in which they choose the right option. While children were doing both activities, the teacher corrected some old tasks.

To finish with the lesson, they continued with the storytelling “The Ants’ party”. Again they analysed and read the first page. She asked to each child to act and say the dialogue. Then she read the following two pages.

Five minutes before going home, they danced and sang a song about numbers from 1 to 20 and gave stars to those who participated in the classroom.
