    It makes sense that S-log would introduce noise to 120fps and Cine4 a bit less. This topic is very technical but I'll try to keep it fairly simple.
    First, when you shoot in S-log, you have a lot of dynamic range. This means that your 100 Mb/s are divided by all 120 frames and your 12-14 stops of dynamic range. Additionally, when you're grading, you're pretty much squeezing your information within Rec 709. This is what introduces the noise in the image, data rate is too low to keep enough information from the shadows.
    To make the most of your data rate limit, your picture profile has to look a lot more like Rec 709 to begin with. This would also be how you treat a picture profile for low light.
    You see, when using a picture profile that reduces dynamic range, you'll be able to have A LOT more data per frame because you're "leaving out" the low and high ends of your dynamic range.
    Cine 4 would be perfect for daylight slow-mo, however, the dynamic range is still a bit too wide if you intent to shoot slow-mo in low light or indoors.


    Please try this custom picture profile for low light or slow mo (not in bright harsh daylight), you'll be surprised with the results:
    1. Black Level -2
    2. Gamma Still
    3. Black Gamma -2
    4. Color Mode - Pro 
    5. Saturation -4 
    6. Detail -7
    Warning: This picture profile has the least amount of dynamic range of them all, so expose for the mid tones accordingly.
    With this you pretty much trade high dynamic range for a very clean image right off the camera.


    This is the beauty of Sony cameras, we have so much control but there's a lot to explore and play with to figure out what every setting does.
