My apologies that this article is behind a pay wall. This is a story about Sabrina, who has autism, and her parents. It details the struggles that Sabrina's parents face in getting her the care she needs. Sabrina engages in aggression and self-injurious behavior. Sabrina's behaviors have resulted in 911 calls and emergency hospital visits.

This is really interesting show but is probably not for everyone. As the people on the island consume communion they slowly begin to see improvements in their daily lives. For example, one character realizes she doesn't need her glasses, another notices her mother's Alzheimers symptoms are reversing. The most noticeable improvement is when Leeza Scarborough, a main character in the show, walks again and doesn't need her wheelchair.

He then goes on to say "I would argue that making people afraid to get care or to disclose their disability, I don't think that is protecting patients."

There are references to this throughout the series but it is never a main focus and it is easy to forget. For example, in season 4 episode 2 Dustin tells his friend he went too far with his remark about his teeth. If you didn't know or remember that Dustin has CCD you would probably miss the reference to his disability.
