         <description><![CDATA[<div>-How did she ascend to power?&nbsp;</div><div>After she was declared illegitimate and obligated to live away from the court, Elizabeth joined the household of the last wife of Henry VIII and she was again considered in line for the throne of England. She was third in line behind her half-sister Mary Tudor and her half-brother Edward Tudor.</div><div>She was 13 years old when her father died and her half-brother became king. Her half-brother died and Mary became Queen(1553-1558), during her reign Elizabeth was imprisoned for being accused of taking part in a failed rebellion against Queen Mary. Elizabeth succeeded to the throne on her half-sister's death in November 1558.&nbsp;</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
