You two have been some of the greatest teachers that I’ve had. You both understand how students are feeling and you both try your best to make your students be the best they can be. When I first took Astronomy, I had no idea what I was getting myself into but Mr Cawthorn knew how to help and how to get me on the path I needed. He made sure that all my work was good and even if it wasn't, he gave me ideas on how to make it better. Mrs Doll is one of the nicest people I’ve met and she’s so sweet. Even though I've taken every one of your classes that I can over the span of only 2 years, it's still sad to see you put a pin in it teaching and step into a new position here at our school. I am confident that you will not only change kids mindsets and perspectives on things in and outside of school now, but change the way they go about life. You have influenced kids and teachers everyday to continue with whatever they're going through. Running countless clubs and helping out with constant events at the school has only made them better. I have to thank you most of all for being one of the most inspirational teachers that has taught me. I have to first apologize for "using my resources" last year when we were online, I actually payed attention a few times believe it or not but only because I was motivated to learn. When I came to school for the first time you were so nice and I won't ever forget those random questions or just enjoying the silence of class. I know me and piper probably bothered you at lunch but it was so funny just having an entire class while were laughing histaircally at Netflix. Thank you for understanding me when I was weird. Then I was able to take your class again the next year and I got so excited. You re- made math fun after I started to think it was getting boring and I've never beeb more thankful. I also thank you for being patient as always you are just way too nice. Finally, caswell was one of the best experiences of my life and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher to have on my team. Hearing you relate to us was a perfect moment and a moment I'll never forget. Thanks for all the memories and I hope your journey at west is lived to the fullest.

I can't even begin to explain how much you have done for me. Coming into high school and being met with a whole new crowd of people was extremely difficult, but I found that in chorus, I had a voice-I had a family. From the first semester, you have been supportive of me, and believe in my ability to get in front of a crowd and sing. Even though I was a nervous, shaky voiced freshman, you still chose me to have a solo for my first concert. When I got nervous before going on stage, you gave me a hug, and told me such inspiring words that helped me to go up there and sing, even though I was beyond nervous, and the tech was messed up. Being surrounded by such incredible peers who support me, and listening to each and every beautiful prayer you tell us before every show has given me hope that I can be something. The love and dedication you hold for chorus and your students is astounding and something to look up to. Thinking back to how I was when I first came here and already how much I have improved as a singer and as a person is insane. You have such an amazing effect on people that makes peers want to join chorus, and even theater, even if they weren't interested in it before. This year has been hard, but I know that I will always have a family that I can call my own when things get hard. I'm so thankful to you and everything you've done for this school, AND the kids in it. Thank you Big J! We love you so much!!!

Dear Mrs. Shatto, thank you for being an awesome anime/Japanese club teacher! When I wanted to join the club I was a bit nervous because big school, classes, many confusions, and stuff but you're always very fun and welcoming that I always looked forward to the club meets. And even though the club was small most of the time, you still put a lot of effort and time into making it fun and enjoyable (especially at Westival). And I appreciate that. I'm sad you'll be retiring and I'll miss you :( :( but I'm glad I got to have you as an anime/Japanese club teacher in my freshman year! :) :) I hope you know that your positive attitude and friendliness make a big difference and affect those around you.

I wanna start by saying that going into high school I was so very nervous and afraid of what could happen; I was afraid that I would struggle with every aspect of it and just collapse into myself, or just give up and not make any effort to be myself and try to grow. Going into theatre arts beginning last semester, I had no idea about the kind of community I was entering. I remember being so scared to go up in front of the class to do improv or even clap for someone. But your class, your environment that you created allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and create things I never thought I could conjure.
Your classroom is a breath of fresh air, a place where I can let my hair down and let my shoulders relax, a place where I can eat my peanut butter crackers. Everything we do in there is so random and weird - I think it's just so funny how things can just line up in mysterious ways and bring gifts that you never thought could be found. I know, 100%, that I would be in a completely different place than I am now if I hadn't become a part of your community of demon children. I am more outgoing, carefree, much less anxious, and loved. I know I have friends and people that care for me in the place you've created because you have taught us respect and love and family. Sure, we have our setbacks, but you always pull us back to a place where we can pick ourselves up.
You also recognize my potential and you encourage me to come out of my shell. I'll admit I could work on applying myself a little more sometimes, but I have come a long way because of your confidence in me.
There is never a dull moment in your community, and I want to thank you for promoting our growth. I know that because of you I have become a better person. I totally can't wait to start working on Sister Act and Into the Woods... [I'll try not to almost cancel the show again :D]

Coming into high school has been hard I had to make new friends and be in a new environment and it was hard but having all of you to guide me through my freshman year has helped me in ways I can't even imagine Mrs. Drown your compassion and kindness has helped me to go out of my comfort zone and do things I never thought I could do and I'm so thankful for that and Mrs. Earp science has always been my go to subject but this year it was hard and I feel like I was always trying to keep up but you have helped me push through and keep going even when I just want to give up and fail so thank you for that and finally Mr. Johnson I know I am definitely not an easy person to get along with I can be very outgoing and annoying sometimes so I just feel that I need to thank you for staying on me and never letting up you were very strict with me and I feel that is what I need because I get very side tracked and distracted but you never let me fail so thank you for that and giving me the environment in your class I met so many new people in that class and got to get out of my social anxiety and just have fun and even tho I didn't really pick the best people to hang out with I still always had a great time in your class

Thank you so much for all of the work that you have put into this band program. This band program has changed my outlook on life, and I am truly grateful for all of the opportunities it has given me. You have had a huge hand in making those opportunities. Even though I can't play loud enough to be heard, you have taught me so many things about not only how to be a better musician but being a better person. You always try to find a way to try to cheer up the guard when things get tough. (Especially the mornings at World Championships) You always try to find the positive in things. When I first started band in sixth grade, I only saw it as just another class and an easy A. But now, you and your students have made band a place where I not only want to learn and do better but a place that I can call my second home. I was advised to not take chemistry because it will be the hardest class in my life. (Which it was) But you knew this, and you helped us get through it. I love the way you care about your students and them learning the material not just to pass the test but, to actually learn it. Even though I needed to get a 115 on the exam, I have learned so much in your class. I am beyond thankful that I had you for chemistry.

I gotta say, moving to a new school in a completely new area has never been easier because of these two teachers (and everyone else at the school in general!). Both have welcomed me with open arms and I can’t explain how grateful I am to have met them, and gotten to know them.

Mrs. Drown — Thanks for being such a great, supportive, and kind teacher. You made even the days that I absolutely did not want to be at school engaging and fun. You always came with a smile on your face, something I, and I’d imagine other students really appreciated.
