This was a mixture of cover and ideas for original compositions. During the week we had our first class meeting where we decided on a theme, ticket pricing, etc. I was not at the meeting for the entire duration as I was recording guitar parts for my EP. This included guitar parts and lyrics. However, I was not completely satisfiyed with my lyrics so i edited them throughout the week trying to get the best possible end product. Recording the EP went as smooth as I could have hoped for. We got the first track, 'Betrayed' recorded to a standard that everyone was happy with. This process has has made me realise that there are people I would never willingly work with in the real world due to their blase attitude and lack of commitment. The show sounded really good from a musical stand point but I feel as if the audience were not fully engaged the whole way through as there was very little crowd interaction and there were lots of silent pauses in between songs.  In terms of the EP, I am chuffed with how it sounds now that it is finished and I feel like it has made me a better and more efficient musician. This allowed me to see the space in which we are performing and get an idea for the sort of repertoire that would be suitable for a venue like this. I stayed to watch the first two sets perform and in doing so I got an insight in to what the vibe and atmosphere is like in the round. We had a professional photoshoot on Thursday where Sue took photos of us to use as promotion on our social media accounts and to be broadcasted around the college. We also had another class meeting, which I was present for. It was more relaxed and more about the music rather than putting on a show. This gave me an insight to how i should use the space when I perform. The meeting was successful and I gave my opinions on merchandising, promoting and social media interactions. Furthermore, my time recording was stress free  and we got another track recorded. The track was called 'Set Me Free' and it is going to be the title track for the EP. Recording the EP went both really well and not as well as it could have done. This is because Yagmur's vocals were dreadful on the EP as she was out of time, not in tune, had no sense of rhythm and just didn't suit the sound we were looking for. I believe this is a culmination of her not really giving a care in the world and just having a blasé attitude towards the work. The screams, however were perfect. I feel as if people just wasted time at Westbourne and we got very little work done. My opinion is that when we are at Westbourne there are too many people in one place at one time and people are constantly going in and out of practice rooms. This is distracting and frustrating as I get the sense that not many people see the seriousness of the upcoming show. Although Westbourne has the better fascilities, rehearsals at college are better structured and more efficient because we are in smaller groups and we have a set time frame to get things done. We managed to get more done in our more focused groups. We were able to run through the set lists in their entirety at least once which installed more confidence in the class as most of us were worried about the standard of the performance. Recording went smoothly and we managed to get all the parts recorded, including vocals. All of the songs I was on sounded great and were definitely better than when we were rehearsing them. My song in particular was better live than it was when we were rehearsing it. Even with barely any sessions and run through's, it was one of the better songs on the night in my opinion.
