My Journey Begins


Born amidst the vibrant heart of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, my early years were a whirlwind of new horizons, thanks to my military family's nomadic spirit. We crisscrossed the globe, each new destination igniting my burgeoning passions for music, languages, cultures, and the rich tapestry of human connection. These passions weren't just hobbies; they were a compass, ultimately guiding me to the verdant landscapes of Costa Rica in 2007 to immerse myself in the captivating rhythms of the Spanish language.


Charting a New Course


My quest for knowledge continued, leading me to the University of Memphis, where I emerged in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish. It was in the bustling classrooms of a Memphis public school, teeming with bright Hispanic ELLs, that my true calling crystallized. Teaching wasn't just a profession; it was a profound connection, and my heart yearned to empower these young linguistic adventurers. This revelation propelled me forward, culminating in a Master's in TESL in 2011. It was then, armed with new knowledge and an insatiable drive, that my grand adventure truly began!
