<title>Dr. King wrote, &quot;Just as the prophets of the eighth century B.C. left their villages and carried their “thus saith the Lord” far beyond the boundaries oftheir home towns, and just as the Apostle Paul left his village of Tarsus and carried the gospel ofJesus Christ to the far corners of the Greco-Roman world, so am I. compelled to carry the gospel offreedom beyond my own home town. Like Paul, I must constantly respond to the Macedonian call for aid&quot;(1).</title>

<title>Dr. King uses a metaphor to describe the unfair and horrible conditions that a Negro lives in in the South. Dr. King describes how a Negro is unable to recieve the same oppurtunity that a White man does due to segregation, leading to a vast majority of Negros forced to live a live of poverty in an already rich society. </title>

<title>Dr. King uses an allusion to signify the importance of his role in the movement towards fighting racial injustice in the South. Dr.King&#39;s usage of allusion towards the Bible creates a sense of credibility towards him as most people in the South were Christians at that time. </title>

<title>Dr. King uses imagery to depict the everyday struggles a Negro goes through in the South. Dr.King uses imagery hoping to create a sense of sympathy towards Negros to the audience.</title>
