Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin (1474-1548)

Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin(meaning Eagle) was a leader of his village, a native of a Chichimeca (a member of the nomadic and semi-barbarous tribes to the North of Mexico City). He had two wives, fought against the Spaniards, was a poet and a philosopher, and numerous of his descendants lived in Mexico City. Juan Diego was the indigenous that encountered the "Virgen de Guadalupe," a myth of this image was discovered in an appearance to Juan Diego to be no more than a fable for hundreds of years. Therefore, it is a factual statement that the "Virgin of Guadalupe" truth is not scientifically proven to be a myth. However, these proofs have been directed by scholars, scientists, and other professionals. These professionals have identified a couple of signals that have altered the appearance of the "Virgin of Guadalupe."

Guillermo Schulenburg's arguments and discoveries of the documents such as "The Codex 1548" and specifications of the image of the "Virgen de Guadalupe" were scientifically not precise. Scholars, anthropologists, theologists, professionals discovered numerous anachronisms and lacked all reasonable proofs. At the age of 80, Schulenburg retired after the scandal. Mexicans accused Schulenburg of discriminatory ideas because he was disparaging Mexicans. Mexicans accused him of such evidence of been, "dumb, stupid, stubborn, as if he thinks that everything comes from Mexicans useless," according to the "La Opinion", a newspaper published on December 3, 1999.

Priest Jesuita Xavier Escalada discovered a crucial document. In 1548 sign by Fray Bernandino de Sahagun, the most critical record of the apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe to Juan Diego. Codex 1548, a sheet of parchment (made of the skin of deer) on which there have been drawn, in ink and the European style, images (with supporting Nahuatl text) matches the same story of words narration of the "Nica Mopohua." Investigators confirmed this document by showing the authentication of the appreciation of the Virgin of Guadalupe. However, then it is also proof that appearance happened in 1531, not 1548. So this is the beginning of a never-ending conclusion.

According to the journal " History versus Juan Diego, the entire Myth of the Virgen de Guadalupe has been spoiled by dishonesty and manipulation. As a result, theologians are dismissive of history, including the Mexican people, and some of us that understand this concept it is a very offensive, hurting, and hateful act. For some anthropologists, it is essential not what happened but what people believe happened and its effect on their devotion or behavior. Can Guadalupe be judged as a historical fact apart from any religious or national significance that it may have? According to the overall Mexican nation, they believe regardless of what scientifically it is proven. Mexicans are loyal, kind, quality followers, but it is essential to get ourselves educated. Mexican deserve to have respect for what they believe. However, we must be well informed of such catastrophe misleading information that was interpreted and guided with an evil intention. However, like always, God protects us, something negative turns out to have strong beliefs on the Virgin of Mary, which furthermore help us carry morals and respect and love to each other.
