The first stage of Erikson's stage is very important since we depend on others to care for and love us. For this, we need to receive good care and love. If not we will tend to struggle and be fearful of others but also the world. My personal experience is that I love being around family and around loved ones, and I know I can count on them when I feel like I need someone.

We'll grow more independent and have a broad sense of security and assurance. During these years, if we don't acquire autonomy, we'll usually experience greater guilt and uncertainty. Successfully finish potty training and are given more freedom to choose their toys and foods. As we know from personal experience it takes longer to potty train children, but with reinforcement and ways to boost confidence.

At this point, We are more likely to become confident if we are praised for our achievements and encouraged to keep becoming better. Growing up my mother always told me to surround myself with good people, as I got older I had to learn how to choose the right people, even though I had to go through rough patches to find my right group of friends.

During our childhoods, we may encounter numerous sorts of mockery and rejection, or we may receive confirmation of our beliefs, principles, and sense of self. Positive reinforcement of one's sense of self makes one feel more independent and in charge. As I got older I had to find what group I wanted to be in, I went through a lot of different groups but I have finally found the one.

Early in adulthood, when we form close, committed connections, increases the likelihood that those relationships will be stable and long-lasting. Being college I have realized that I am ready to start my dream job, having a family, etc. I know now that I have committed to long-term relationships that mean a lot to me.
