Page 35-“I could smell the disease in eves brain long before even she knew it was there.” This is an important part in the story because it is when Enzo realizes eve has brain cancer. And he can’t do anything to help her. But even he could help her there would still be a big problem.

Page 42-“Denny had gone to France for a formula Renault testing program.” This is important because Denny wasn’t there to help eve when she was sick. And he could take care of Enzo so he was probably all alone.

Page 44- “ I feel like someone is crushing my soul.” This is very important because this is the first time eve realizes that something is wrong with her . Enzo knows what is wrong but he’s a dog so he can’t tell her.

Page 87- “It stinks,” Mike’s partner said. “I’ll wash it.” And he put it in the washing machine! My dog! He took the first toy that Denny ever gave me and stuck it in the washing machine... with soap! I couldn’t believe it. I was stunned. No one ever handled my dog in such a way! I think this is important because it shows how much Denny means to Enzo and how much he cares.

But I am a racer at heart, and a racer never lets something that already happened affect what is happening now. So I wagged my tail happily.” I think this is important because all Enzo wants is for Denny to be happy so he goes out of his way to him feel that way.
