         <description><![CDATA[<p>Red foxes have overtaken&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Gray_Wolf">grey wolves</a>&nbsp;as the most widespread&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Canidae">canines</a>&nbsp;in the wild.&nbsp;</p><p>Distributed throughout the northern hemisphere, red foxes are highly adaptable&nbsp;</p><p>and occupy territories in&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/habitats/Deserts_and_xeric_shrublands">deserts</a>&nbsp;and<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/habitats/Tundra">tundra</a>&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/habitats/Urban_ecosystem">urban</a>&nbsp;areas.
