• Sometimes they expect children to gain knowledge by 'a certain time' and compares their own experiences with what their children are experiencing

Teachers' training:

• In ECE, teachers aren't specially trained to 'teach' literacy and may feel it's the primary school teachers' job to help children with literacy.

• Sometimes, teachers aren't equipped with enough support as well (in terms of ratio, knowledge) to provoke children's interests in literacy

Ensuring students and teachers have all the resources they need to learn and that they're in the right mindset to learn (motivation and drive to achieve and learn).
