My name is Elisha Amin, my first name (Elisha) means "God is my salvation", and my last name Amin Have Arabic and Indian roots (I'm mostly if not 100% Indian). The reason why my parents name me Elisha is base off biblical Story of Elisha and Elijah. The story is about a profit name Elijah and God told him that he will take him away and Elijah ask Elisha what can do for you before I leave. Elisha asks for double anointing than Elijah, Elijah said if you see me be carry up than you will get your double anointing. Elisha never left his side until Elijah got caught up. So, after my parents got my older brother Elijah, they thought it would be fitting to name me Elisha.

Hope and dreams

My hope and dreams is to one day become a doctor. I decided I wanted to become a doctor when I was in kindergarten. It was carrier day and I had to draw what I wanted to be when I grow up. Three images came to my head a cop car, a fire truck, and an ambulance vehicle. The vehicle I would pick will decide my future. I decided to draw the ambulance vehicle. So, when people ask me “what do you want to be in the future”, I tell them a doctor.

My Religion would be Christianity. You could probably tell from my name that I was born into a Christian household. A fun fact is that I have a lot of Muslims and Hindu family. Once I went to a Hindu funeral and it was a custom too wear white during the funeral.

Family History

My family History: My great ancestors was originally from India. They came on a ship to Guyana around 1828 (I look it up on google) and after many generations my parents move to America (separate times). They met and after a couple years they had me and my two other siblings.

Traditions

Some Traditions me and family have is every spring break we would go on a road trip to Florida. Our last road trip we went to Disneyworld there was a lot of fun rides but lines took forever. A family tradition what my family would do around Christmas time, is that we would eat pepperpot with bread, I don't really know the origin of this traditions to be honest.

Holidays

My Favorite holiday have to be Christmas. My dad would always let us pick what we want for Christmas. But the best part was when my cousins would come over and we get to play with our new toy car or helicopter together. Another holiday I love to celebrate is Thanksgiving. The reason why love to celebrate Thanksgiving is because it’s a free get out jail card for soda and if it's going stop snowing during Christmas time, I would make Thanksgiving my number one favorite holiday.

Significant Personal Experience

A Significant Experience what happen to me have to be getting my PSSA and biology Keystone result. When I got my PSSA Result, I was surprised because I got all advances. (I didn't do a PSSA since 5th grade so seeing all advance was a big jump for me) I was very happy, and I can tell my parent was even more happy because my mom starts taking pictures of my results and start showing it off. The PSSA give me a new sense of confidences. Now we jump to 9th grade. In 9th grade I took biology what mean at the end of the year I had to take the biology keystone. For me the biology Keystone was the final boss to end off the year. I had Mrs. Barbour and she spend most of the school year preparing us for the keystone. So, when going to the keystone I had stress because I know it was time for me to play my part. I took the test with pride that everything I did this year was for this one moment. When the results came in, I got advance.

Hobbies/Interests

My Hobbies and Interest beside video games and technology is Arts and crafts. I love to make cool builds out of popsicle sticks and origami. The best thing about building with popsicles sticks is that I get to be creative and problem solving. I will go over the process how I make my arts and crafts projects. First, I come up with an idea. Second, I spend time thinking how to build it and with a general idea I start building. Next step is the fun part when building you always find some detail what you miss. This is where problem solving comes in. I see the Problem and try to figure a way how to solve it. After solving these issues, I would come up with new methods for future projects. (You can tell a project what my sister made compared to what I build because we use different methods when building our projects)

Student/School

If Mrs. Rose can put teacher, I can put student. To me being a student means going to school and doing your best. As being a Student I learn many life skills like time management, how to convert measurement, and how to read and spell. With out school I wouldn't be the person who I am today. The biggest lesson I learn from school is learn from your mistakes. Something I love about AHCCS is that you can redo your assignments. Redoing assignments help me understand what I did wrong and how to fix it; When the time comes when it matters the most, I will learn from my mistake and don’t make the same mistake twice.

Cooking

I love to cook foods like pizza, burritos, and steak. Cooking let me be creative and make food and I have build a strong bond with my sister by cooking with her. When you cook for the family you get a feeling of pride when you see everyone enjoy the food you made. For me I get a great joy when I finish cooking because there's always that journey you have take until you reach the end. I just feel pride to see where I started and where I ended up.
