Economics:
Advertisers have fond new ways such as the internet to get directly to their customers so that they do not have to pay for space in news media as they have done in the past. As for the press, some news organisations have reduced the cost of news gathering which means the capital used for news publication is limited.
In terms of audiences, they are more likely to get information and news from through the internet rather than through buying newspapers or other ways they need to pay, thus the income of the press form audiences is reduced.

In terms of culture, crisis refers to the declination of public interest reporting and replacement of entertainment values. Taking newspaper and TV as examples, the popularity has dropped recently. Owing to the changing of reading habit, people under 40s decrease their interests on reading newspapers, which represents a crisis of traditional journalism. With the abundant news and videos online springing up, TV is losing audience gradually. People can use smartphone to replace it by searching news and watching videos. Changes of public interest and entertainment values illustrate the crisis of journalism in cultural respect
