         <description><![CDATA[<div>Solar panels are one of many things that physics plays a part in to aid the world effort to reduce energy waste. Solar panels directly take energy from the sun and use it to create energy we can use. Solar panels are made up of solar cells, when sunlight hits these solar cells light particles (photons) hit an electron causing the electron to phase out of the silicon  (sheet of solar cells). These are important because solar panels reduce the use of energy waste and create a much greener and reusable form of energy that benefits us all. The total amount of solar energy received on earth is way more than the world's current and anticipated energy requirements, therefore using resources such as oil and coal which are non-renewable resources are not as beneficial as the sun and its physics. </div>]]></description>

The atomic bomb that exploded in Hiroshima let out about 1.5 x 10^13 joules of energy. That is a lot of energy. Physics plays a role in this because to create an atomic bomb, there are multiple components like velocity that have to do with physics. In WW2, the military was funding physics in order to get a tactical advantage against the enemy.</div>]]></description>

Physical sciences are helping fund pollution reduction, produce efficient energy production methods, and create new technologies. By monitoring our planet closely we are able to see where are planet needs the most help and how we can take action. One major issue is poor air quality, this contributes to health and productivity expenses. New methods are being tested to reduce the indoor pollutants. Solar cells are increasing and so are hybrid vehicles  and it is because of physics. In closing, physics contributes to more in society than we would think and plays an important role in our environment. </div>]]></description>
