REFLECTION ABOUT THE ROLE OF TEACHERS

This project help us to understand that the teacher is not only to give class and explain grammar or vocabulary. With the help of artificial intelligence tools, we can create activities more fun and more interactive for students. For example, when we use Kahoot or ChatGPT, the students pay more attention and feel motivated, because the class is not boring. The article of Haci Hasan Yolcu talk about how the teacher must change with the new technology, and it say that the AI can help in the class, but not replace the teacher.

Also, the teacher now is not only a person who talks and the students write. The teacher now is a guide, is a person who plan activities, create digital content and help students use technology in a good way. In this work, we use the AI to design games, questions, flashcards and lesson plans. We learn how tools like Grammarly, Kahoot and ChatGPT can be part of the English class. The activities we do help us to teach vocabulary and adjectives with games, and that make the class more interesting for children. The teacher is important because is who control the activities and motivate the students.

Finally, this work show us that the role of the teacher is changing. Now is more creative, more close to the students, and more flexible. We learn that AI is not the enemy, is a tool we can use in the class. The teacher must be ready to learn new things, and to use technology for make better classes. I think the English teacher in the future must be a person who mix the books, the emotions and the technology in the classroom.
