It will can decrease recovery time, post operative pain medication use, and hospital admissions. It is no more expensive than currently existing robotic operating systems.
Rationale: Ultimately, it makes the perioperative experience easier on patients. Increasing laparoscopic technologies will enhance patient outcomes while not compromising the surgery itself. Decreasing inpatient admissions will decrease costs for the patient as well as mental anguish. The United States is in the middle of an opiod crisis, so utilizing any technology than can decrease narcotic prescriptions need to be taken into consideration. This technology will benefit the patient physically, mentally, and socially and should be considered.
