Both were pacentily waiting for freedom or there time to come to be free. Here are some differences they are that on is in a cage and the other one is based on school, The character is a Boy in one story and in the other story it is an animal. Both passages show this in different ways. In the boys life it shows a boy leaving school for the summer, but the teacher stops him. In a boys life it takes place in a big school. In a boys life he goes and enjoys his summer and his town. Also the bull goes into a dark scary free place instead of enjoying summer. The yare alike because they both want freedom and don't want to be trapped so at the end they share the love for freedom.

In the 2 stories they have the same theme but differences inside of it. First, the boy isn't really independent because he's just going home and hopefully he has family there. But the animal perhaps really is now independent he's out in the world alone. Second, Cory does have to go back to school and do it all over again after the summer.
