Revocation: Mr. Huber-Mayotte was convicted of two felonies when he defrauded $182,000 from his mother. His conduct eventually led to the removal of his mother from his home for her safety. His teaching certification was revoked. (Principle 4.i, 10.a)

Probation: Mr. Wenner indicated on his application for licensure that he had been subject to licensure discipline with his previous employer in California. Following a period of separation that led to divorce, Mr. Wenner used inappropriate language and experienced anger issues in his classroom. Mr. Wenner completed a 52-week anger management program. He is on probation for four years. (Principle 2.f, 2.j)

Suspension 30 days: Janet Montgomery had an 8 year old student disclose that her father had struck her in the mouth causing her mouth to bleed. Montgomery reported her lip was cut, and because she knew it was a reportable event she made herself a note and put it on her computer because, “it was urgent”. Montgomery failed to report the suspected abuse to police or DHS until 25 days later. (Principle IX b)

Revocation: David Wright was found in possession of multiple photographs of a student under age 18, the photos were of the student engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The student was not a student of Wrights and during the investigation it was discovered he had been paying the student to send him nude images of herself. Along with revocation of his teaching license he was also incarcerated for 70 months and required to register as a sex offender. (Principle I, Principle II c,d,g,h.)

Raspberry (formerly Randal Dean Berry) license was revoked because of sexual harassment between him and another male teacher. This involved sexual comments as well as unwelcome sexual contact. Teacher KO stopped by Raspberry’s rooms to talk when Raspberry lifted Teacher Kos shirt and made an inappropriate comment regarding his groin. Raspberry then followed KO back to his room and placed his hand on Kos shoulder and genitals.  Raspberry was sentenced to 2 days in jail 36 months of probation, and place in a sex offender program which led to his teaching license being revoked. (Principle X, b) 

Steven J Elmer had his license suspended due to teaching and assisting students on the OAKS test issued by the state. It was discovered that Mr. Elmer was coaching to the test as well as giving students answers to improve their scores. He also tried to cover up this by threatening a student not to tell. Because of this he was suspended for 1 year. (Principle IV, e)

Margaret Ann Blair was issued a public reprimand for her lack of reporting in a sexual misconduct instance involving a teacher and a student. Mrs. Blair was the principal of a school and during her time she did not investigate alleged misconduct between one of her teachers and students. The teacher was later found guilty of inappropriate behavior. Mrs. Blair was given a reprimand for not doing her due diligence to report the matter. (Principle IX, b)

Denial of Application for Reinstatement: Mr. Allison voluntarily gave up his teaching license due to an investigation by city police and the education commission regarding allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year old student.  He later began coaching in another state, applied to get his teaching license reinstated, but was not able to prove he was fit for reinstatement.  (Principle II, e, h)

Revocation: Mr. Johnson’s license was revoked due to the fact he was not providing students with an appropriate amount of work to complete, as outlined by the district, he wasn’t grading assignments on time, or at all, and was inputing grades for assignment that did not correspond with the actual work completed by students.  Even after direction from administrators, he failed to change his practices, and was proven to be untruthful when reporting back to officials during the investigation.  His actions constituted gross negligence of duty.  (Principle I, IV, e, g, X, c)

 

Suspension: During a rafting portion of the trip, a student tipped her kayak and became pinned under a log, nearly drowning. Connelly, a whitewater expert, and other professional raft guides rescued the student. Connelly failed to immediately notify school administrators, parents, or medical providers of the accident. That remaining night, Corurelly was in charge of closely monitoring the students because it had been determined they required extra attention. Connelly went earlier than planned. The same night the student who was involved in the accident was inappropriately touched by another student. Cournelly failed to contact school officials and brief them. Cournelly received a 90-day suspension. (Principle VIII,c, Principle IX, a, b)

Probation: Mr. Allen was put on a two-year probation after improper student management and unnecessary physical contact with students. Allen grabbed a student's backpack and hand to turn him around to face him and kicked the student out of his class. (Principle II a,d)
