This is show in the first scene when the men come up to the deck during the storm when the boatswain tells them to leave. They stay because they think they know everything and they have the power but they do not, the boatswain does because he has all of the boat knowledge.

Perspective

Everything about ones life varys due to their perspective.

This is shown multiple times but the best example is Miranda. She was always kep away from society and just raised on an island alone with her dad, so obviously her views and ideas and traits will be much different than one with a different, more broad perspective.

Act 2

Knowledge and our environment can affect the way we see the world and our perspectives on people, places, or events. One event that displayed this is when Caliban said "I’ll swear upon that bottle to be thy true subject, for the liquor is not earthly." (Shakespeare 2.2.139). This shows Caliban has not been around alot of people which has shifted and distorted his perspective on people and the world because he is choosing a drunk to be his master just because he had good wine.

Act 3

A persons perspective and views on the world may have an impact on the way they interact with others and there environment. An example of this is Miranda talking to Ferdinand, she says at one point "Nor have I seen More that I may call men than you, good friend, And my dear father" (Shakespeare 3.1.61-63) and she later tells Ferdinand "I would not wish Any companion in the world but you" (Shakespeare 3.1.65-66). This may seem kind of crazy but this goes to show Miranda's limited perspective on men and the other gender is affecting the way she interacts with the first one she has seen.
