We knew that we did not want to live on the Gold Coast, we wanted to live in a Multicultural area and with some History and Culture so we chose Melbourne. We literally looked at a map and poked a needle on to the page ( Eastern suburbs) and it landed on Micham. We rented for a year and then found our little tiny weatherboard house which we have since extended. we liked the road as it was quiet, near the station and tree lined with an established community, not far from the shops and easy to drive to either the beach / or more rural / or to the City. At that time it was also walking distance to our local Primary School
We like being near all the Basketball stadiums. gyms and dog friendly walking areas. He loves being able to cycle to Donvale and would much rather live there so he could be out on his bike all day!
We enjoy being close to a train line so on the rare occasions it is easy to access the city. we also love being able to take our Foster children to the Zoo which is easy to get to by car (either 3 zoos)

Our view is the Sherbrooke forest which is pretty incredible. It is so lovely, so green and quiet which was a huge reason to move.
- all seasons bring a different beauty to the area.
- family is close by
- we have a huge block which is flat and on a flat street too which was a deciding factor in purchasing this property. the street is so picturesque all cottages 70 to 100 years old.
- we have a pool so lots of incidental family and friend gatherings in hot weather
- owls, kookaburras, parrots, visit daily - there is also an echidna that wonders through
- walking paths, national parks, gardens/parklands close by to enjoy
- so many cafes, bars, local businesses within walking distance. can walk to cinema or to see a band. surrounded by so many great nurseries. 
- food shopping has changed from chain supermarkets and shopping centres to supporting local grocers/farmers, butchers, deli - who make all their own food. 
- so many markets on weekly in surrounding suburbs - there is always something on
- 5 min walk to train station
- only added 10min drive to get to peninsula for weekend trips
- very friendly community. so easy to make friends. lots of young families in our street, kids are playing basketball and riding bikes until dark every night - which will be such lovely childhood memories.
- tourist destinations on our doorstep
