Gasoline cars have been around for a while. In 1876, the first ever gasoline powered car was made in Germany. In 1886, a German inventor named Carl Benz started the first commercial production of motor vehicles with internal combustion engines. It took a few more years for these gasoline cars to reach American markets, but once they did, they became very popular. In 1908, however, with the new release of Henry Ford’s Model T, everyone started to use gas powered cars. Throughout the 20th century, gasoline cars were everything. New kinds of cars were being made, and more people were getting them. Around this time, people were learning about the environmental impacts that cars had. But people still were using them regularly. But in the 1970-90s, the government passed many Clean Air Acts, which changed how cars were made. However, Today, gas powered cars are still a big problem, and it has led to many negative impacts on humans, the environment, and the economy.

Using diesel or gasoline powered cars can have negative effects on humans. One reason is that it causes lung disease deaths in the world. The carbon dioxide emissions from gas powered cars are very harmful to your lungs and can cause many lung issues. This results in them creating over 250,000 lung cancer deaths per year. Second, for people that already suffer with lung diseases, this can put them at an even higher risk. Since carbon emissions can already cause lung issues, for people that already have them, this leads to major health risks for them. This is even a risk for people who might not have serious lung diseases, but just have small lung problems, like people who have asthma. Finally, they can contaminate the food and water supply. The emissions from gas and diesel cars contribute to air pollution, and air pollution contaminates agriculture and water supply. Since conventional cars make these emissions, this leads to them contributing to the amount of air pollution and harm done to agriculture and supply of water.

Gasoline cars have a horrible effect on the environment. First of all, they cause carbon dioxide emissions. While these do have negative effects for your health, they are even worse for the environment. For example, these emissions directly contribute to air pollution. Since gasoline cars make these emissions, they are bad for the environment. Second, gasoline is from petroleum, which is fossil fuel, a nonrenewable source of energy. They also produce a lot of carbon dioxide when they are burned, which adds on to air pollution. Because these cars use gasoline, they are adding on to the amount of fossil fuels being used. Finally, because these cars are contributing to air pollution, it also means that they are depleting the ozone layer. Air pollution is a main cause of destroying the ozone layer, and since emissions from cars is a part of that, it means that cars are depleting the ozone layer.

Gas powered cars have a horrible effect on the economy. First, the amount of dollars per gallon of gas has almost gone up by one dollar in the past 5 years. This has a terrible effect on the economy because it is making things more expensive than they used to be. Second, about only 12-30% of the fuel you put in a gas powered car is actually used to move it. The rest of the fuel is either lost in the engine or other inefficiencies in the car. This is a problem because of how high the fuel prices are nowadays, and if most of the fuel isn’t even working, then a lot of money is being wasted.

How We Can Solve the Problem

Gas powered cars have created a ton of problems in the world, like causing deaths, contributing to air pollution and having a bad economy. However, these problems can all be fixed with different forms of transportation. One solution is to drive an electric car. Electric cars don’t release any carbon dioxide emissions, meaning they don’t have any environmental or health risks. They also cost a lot cheaper than gas cars because they don’t require fuel. Another solution is to ride the bus. A bus can hold more people than a car while having most of the same environmental downsides. Buses also reduce the amount of gas burned by up to 4.2 billion gallons per year. Buses are also super cheap and affordable to everyone. One final solution is to walk. This way, you avoid all consequences of driving a car in general. Walking has little to no health risks, doesn’t harm the environment at all, and is completely free. Using these solutions, you can use transportation more sustainably and help yourself and others doing so.
