Sometimes it is nice to be a leader or unique.  You need to have your own thoughts and identity.  You can choose your own path, don't let others dictate your life and choices. In my past experiences I have taken a different road and that road made my life better. One choice I have made that changed everything for me is deciding to pick up field hockey.  I didn't want to play the same sport as my sister and friends so I decided to try something new and challenging.  If I hadn't played this sport I wouldn't have been on a varsity team, meeting new people and having fun. I would not go back and change this path of playing field hockey. Sometimes, living a simplistic life is more satisfying because you really appreciate, stop and enjoy life.  Thoreau lived in the woods to experience life by getting away from all of the distractions and hustle of everyday life.  Instead of living in the moment we tend to want to spend the time trying to capture if on our phones or using technology.  We are missing the point of focusing on the experience of living.  My dreams have to come from within me and not be influenced by the people and things around me.  I will be happier and get more fulfillment out of becoming a starving artist than I would a surgeon because I chose my own path.  We do not want to wake up in 70 years and regret our lives because we lived someone else's dream and not our own.  

]]> 2021-03-19 12:16:53 UTC https://padlet.com/ahanemann23/g1jh7q82cv6ypcii/wish/1329428914 ahanemann23 https://padlet.com/ahanemann23/g1jh7q82cv6ypcii/wish/1329447144 If I was going away for good I would have to bring my dog.  He is a great companion, loving and constantly brings happiness whenever I am around him.  I would look forward to bringing him anywhere in the world with me.  I feel like a journey with him by my side would be great company.  I would also bring a lot of pictures of my past.  I love looking through photo books of the past 16 years.   I have lived in several different houses until we finally settled in Point Pleasant.  I have many pictures of me with my cousins on vacation and spending holidays together.  I love looking at pictures of my school years with various friends growing up together.  The pictures capture the memories that sometimes are vague but I will always appreciate and enjoy reminiscing about.  I would also bring my art supplies.  I love being creative and drawing and painting is an outlet for me.  It allows me to express myself and it helps me relax and reduce stress.  I have to admit I probably could not live without my phone.  It connects me to others and is convenient when looking up directions, recipes, facts and everyday information.  I would have a very hard time saying goodbye to my family but if they have their lives here I would not expect them to be able to come with me on my journey.  I would do a video message so they could hear my voice and see my face whenever they wanted to.  I would have difficulty not experiencing life with them but I would understand that they could not drop everything to live my dream and live somewhere else.

The lyric "Don't stop believing" shows standing up for your rights and thinking for yourself.  Even though life can be hard, you can still find hope and be happy. "She took the midnight train going anywhere".
