The majority of movies that Disney produces has white characters and I hope that Disney continues to be more culturally diverse. The animation and color palette was so beautiful and the storyline was amazing. Media in our world is such a big part of our society and everyone deserves someone like them to look up to. I love the new era of Disney movies that are teaching young kids that you don't need your prince charming to rescue you. I'm in love with Hawaiian culture and I've been there quite a few times and I think they depicted it so well. I love it when they portray different races in media and film because it really give kids someone to look up to. It was so disappointing to grow up and only have Mulan ( who is not even Korean!!) as the only means of representation. The animation was beautiful and I love it when Dwayne Johnson voices a character so it was perfect when he was casted to play Maui.
