Peardeck is an online technology tool that makes lectures and assessments engaging. The platform also promotes collaboration among the class. The great aspect of the platform is that educators can sign up for free and get the basic plan without having to pay. The premium plan charges about 150 dollars, which includes additional tools, such as adding audio to slides and collecting student progress. There is another option where a school or district can get a quote.

Moreover, the audience of the platform is flexible and versitile. Any age group can use the tool; however, the most popular grades would be elementary.

The ELA content that can be supported would be asking comprehension questions, writing, grammer, vocabulary games, and critical thinking.

Students are manipulating, creating, and building with information or topics they are given. The teacher is able to differentiate approaches to meet students' levels while also matching standards. However, some struggle with the platform, are internet access, preparing the slides, and navigation gaps.

Lastly, the platform engages students with ELA content through active participation and collaboration. Allowing students to answer questions that show their interests or strengths. For example, if a student likes to draw, they can sketch their answer to a question. Student pace and practice can be made to match their speed or attention span. Teachers can also look at the students' work and modify or differentiate the lesson.

https://www.peardeck.com

BrainPop is an online resource that provides informational videos, quizzes, and games. It can be accessed through computers or tablets. Educators do need to pay for the resource ranging prices from 210 dollars to 330 dollars per year. There are 4 different plans to choose from for individual use, or there are district options.

Furthermore, the resource's audience pertains to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The resource's purpose is to help children understand standards and lessons in digestible pieces. Also, allowing for differentiation with English language learners. For younger students around k-3 have videos related to their level and interests. There are simpler sentence structures and easy to follow activities. There there is an area for 3-8 graders where there is more critical thinking and engaging tools.

Specifically referring to ELA, comprehension is built through games, quizzes, and activites that follow the videos given all based on standards. There are options to practice and build vocabulary. Along with some grammar practices, speaking, and listening tools.

Lastly, some concerns with the platform are the cost and not providing students with foundational learning or having time. While the resource can further students' understanding and differentiate the material through technology, the students can become disengaged or bored.

https://www.brainpop.com/discover/
