I always have been. I can speed read, but I will not retain information that way, so I take my time and take in what I am reading. There are books I've read numerous times and some I've never finished (gasp!). I enjoy reading because I enjoy learning. I like to read all genres (except sappy love stories). The benefit of reading for me is that it helps me add to, and maintain, an extensive vocabulary, and I feel more in touch with the world around me by reading about different cultures and ideas.
