He looks like a big man. He’s wearing a red coat. His coat looks a little bit oversized. On his coat you can see golden lines so you can idicate he’s an important person. Underneath his little bit oversized coat you can see like a grey blouse. It can be an oversized blouse but It also can be a dress. Henry is wearing two kinds of necklaces. Henry has a beard and his head is little bit oval. On his head he is wearing a hat. Henry also wears socks that reach to his knees. He has a little sword and rings around his fingers. In his other hand he is holding a pair of brown leather gloves. He also wears strange looking slippers. In this picture you see especially much gold, so he is an important person with a lot of money. His face looks very serious and he has very big shoulders.

Henry probeerde toestemming van de paus te krijgen om te scheiden van Catherine of Aragon. Die kreeg hij niet. Hij nam daarvoor extreme maatregelen en stichte daarbij de Engelse kerk. Henry VIII is altijd een redelijk conservatieve kerkvorst geweest.
