Another appeal they can be is ethos. The Femme Fatale is often someone that has a good reputation. Its often a woman sometimes a man. Her role is to basically to seduce the hero and get her way. The Femme Fatale is the exact opposite of a damsel in distress. Shes an dangerous figure in literature, shes often someone that drives the "hero" of the path.
