Here is an example of dialogue tags, “Did you get my letter?” asked Katie. In this sentence the ‘’asked Katie’’ is the dialogue tag. How I can apply this to my own writing is by just watching for when I use dialogue and making sure I add that dialogue tag. Like let’s say in my writing I write ‘’What is for dinner mom’’? I would then add the dialogue tag at the end of that sentence with ‘’Logan asked’’. Now as we are still asking the same question; Do I always use dialogue tags? Where would I use them and where Would I not use them? Where is an few example of when now as a writer I prefer to use them and when not to use them. I think that dialogue tags help your writing but it is not good to use them if you keep using them back and forth. Here is an example. ''Hey Sam can you come downstairs for dinner?'' Repiled Mom. ''Be down in a minute''! Said Sam. '' Ok, sweetie. But hurry''! Said Mom. So see to me it does not sound right when you keep dialogue tags over and over again. Another way, where dialogue tags aren't very useful is when, when you do use dialogue tags to not use said every time. Like ''She Said''. Or ''He Said''. Try to use words like ''She Shouted or ''He whispered''.
