In many books authors ask themselves questions and then slowly but surely dive into a sea of answers or speculations based on their own findings but Ratliff seemed to have taken it further. When I read Every Song Ever, it almost feels like I am looking through the eyes of thousands of artists and music makers. It is as if I am looking through the lens of old and new, classic and modern, and a plethora of other things. You see, Ratliff doesn't just dare to look at the musical world from his own perspective but that of many. He explains ideas and tactics in way that may refer to an older artist, like Mozart, but that can still be connected to today's artists as well. I found the answer to many of my musical questions in this book and honestly I agree with him in every chapter. His ideas resonate with my own in a way that made me enjoy the book even more.
