I don’t think it’s very applicable because they say to planting trees is possible even in the city but Singapore is really too small. I believe there are many other methods for conservation. :)

2. I think that this is applicable to Singapore. Singapore aims to be a garden city, yet more and more forests like the Kranji woodlands have been cleared to build expressways. Despite Singapore having limited space, I think it’s about the concentration of forests in the country and not about our contribution to the global forests. Having a large forest area in our country contributes to the aesthetics and beauty of the country landscape and has many health benefits as well. In addition, deforestation is a pressing issue in itself and Singapore has acknowledged this in our Green Plan, which also includes many plans to boost reforestation in Singapore.

Since Singapore aims to be carbon neutral by or around 2050, reforestation can be a very effective way to achieve this goal. Furthermore, forests are often cleared in land-scarce Singapore to make way for urban development. i think it is applicable to singapore. Although our natural environment may not be one as large as china’s, we can adopt their environmental protection measures as well. Singapore does actively aim to promote conservation efforts as well through awareness campaigns and Wildlife Reserves Singapore organisation.
