I personally can agree with this statement because critical thinking and problem-solving skills are extremely important for the real world and school which would make it understandable for the NYCDOE to block chatGPT but I can see why some people would want to use chatGPT to give them a competitive advantage over others who actually study although it wouldn't make them smarter than the competitors because they didn't take the time to learn it properly

Yes because if students cheat on certant things like studying to be a doctor it is not good knowing that one of your doctors isnt well trained as he just used some ai to do the hard work. Which would change peoples mind on even allowing this doctor to treat them.

Yes I do also agree because the tool is helpful and can give quick and easy answers. But at the same time it will make the students skills like problem solving, brainstorming, and doing it on their own ruined and that will also make them very attached to the tool. That is why they should block it then the students can learn and do it themselves which would help them.
