We are constantly working on letter formation, so continuing that practice at home is greatly appreciated! Checking the sizing of our written letters is also a focus as we move toward writing more in our journals and in smaller spaces. Our focus has shifted to animals in winter and we have been looking at a lot of different texts to help us learn as much as we can about different animals and how they survive in the colder months! Ask your child about what they have learned so far! If any parent is an expert or has anything to share and connect with that learning, please let us know!
We have also moved into learning about rhyming words (words with the middle and end sound the same) and syllables. We play lots of games and use transition times to really practice these skills! We kicked this off with our Teddy Bear Day where we ordered our teddy bears from biggest to smallest, we've measured feet with cubes to see whose feet are the biggest in the class and we've been measuring how tall we each are using snowballs (fake, of course!). We are loving all of the math language we are hearing and how curious everyone has been! Great job!
