This explores and articulates an understanding of pedological, sociocultural, sociopolitical, and historical significance of digital literacy. It is based upon student interactions!

An activity I can do in my classroom is having students complete more of their work electronically. For example, I will use PearDeck to guide student learning and have them interact with questions/ participation through that instead of printing worksheets.

1. Pedological belief: the idea that teaching, learning, and schools in general will be changed by society transitioning from paper based to digital based.

2. Sociocultural belief: the way students interact with each other and any information they interact with from the digital world, it will change the social and cultural patterns and allow students to have access to more diverse human interaction.

3. Sociopolitical belief: is like the sociocultural, but provides opportunity for individuals and group empowerment that is again, based on student interaction.

4. Historical belief: is based on the student interaction and how it will create a new historical stage of civilization.

This explores explicit digital reading and literacies. It focuses on the topic of digital text reading comprehension and focuses mainly on research questions!

An activity I can do in my classroom is by allowing students to explore websites like Newsela.com. This allows students to read on the same topic, but at their own reading level. This would allow student comprehension to strengthen greatly, which is the focus of this lens.

Emphasizes all levels of meaning and includes all learning styles -- visual, linguistic, auditory, tactile, spatial, kinesthetic, and olafactory. It focuses on how they work together in literacy. This is also interactive activities with multiple forms of systems.

An activity I can use in the classroom would be to allow my students to use Google Docs. Google Docs allows students to use multiple forms of content all while remaining a safe space for consistently changing and interacting with what they're working on. It can also allow collaboration with students. We can all use one doc and interact with it and each other at the same time.

A process to understand the phenomenon based on four components to consider: the text, the activity, the reader, and the context. It is important to consider the type of text. They type of text will help you understand how to interact with it. The activity helps identify the purpose and process. The reader is important because each reader is different. The context has to do where the reading is taking place.

An activity I can do in my classroom is allowing students to create blogs or video presentations to create book presentations, or book studies based on what we are reading in class.
