Science as a method, and not a collections of facts.

My goal is to shift my classroom towards a more inquiry-based classroom with a CER focus. Student usually do a great job with the claims and evidence part. But because my classroom hasn't shifted more towards an inquiry based model, I feel students are still struggling to make connections on their own and think critically.

Science is a process and its understanding/body of knowledge changes as new information/evidence becomes clear.

Science can only provide explanations for natural, mechanistic phenomena (supernatural explanations for phenomena are not appropriate in science).

Hypotheses are never "wrong" - just not supported by evidence - and frequently scientists' hypotheses lead to even more questions.
