Today, we often disagree with our government. But we don't disagree enough to go into another Revolutionary War. The cause of the other revolution was that the colonists wanted to break free from England. In our society today we do not have a disagreement big enough to cause another revolution. As time goes on we tend to have more arguments about politics. Our nation is one, we are not to opposite forces. Today, America treats everybody equal. One important difference from the revolution and now, is that we don't have another force making us pay large taxes. So I do not believe there will be another war.

We are also not gutsy enough to do it, especially now with all modern weapons that the military has. We may disagree with our government but we have rights now that allow us to fix them in a civil way. We don't have to got to war like the colonists because they were stripped of their rights, so they fought for them.

I believe that people do argue with the government, but not to a point where we will start a revolution against them. Lately there have been many political disagreements between the government and our country's citizens. For example, many riots have began against the government and their actions. However, it seems to be the farthest we'll go against the government. Also, we don't have enough strength to declare war. Back then, they did have a reason for it, with Britain's Acts towards the colonists. Nowadays, we wouldn't have enough courage to declare war upon our own government.

I do not think that it is very likely that a revolution will occur against our government in the coming years and decades. Based on all the rights and technology we have, any problem is fixable. Besides, may people move to the United States because of the freedoms that we have. Most countries don't have freedom of the press or speech. Though we need soldiers in war, many people today may not agree with the sending of family off as well. With all the rights and democracy we have, it just doesn't seem probable that we will revolt against the US government even though we may have different beliefs about it. Finally, the circumstances are way different comparing the two wars. I mean we are happy with how the structure of our government is and do not want to go off and form our own government. It just does not seem realistic to have a revolt against our government.

Though we are, at the moment, in a time of great political division, a revolution such as the one that occurred in 1776 is highly unlikely. The time of the Revolutionary War was a time of great change all over the world. Many nations were developing government, going to war, splitting apart, etc. Therefore, it was a natural time for the Thirteen Colonies to do the same. In modern day, however, though most nations governments are changing rapidly, the change is not as great as it was in the eighteenth century, so a revolution would be very out of place. In addition, weapons are developing. This could mean a revolution would be easier for the people to start, but it would also be easier for the government to stop. Because people know some of the weapons the government possesses (or rather don't know), they are less likely to do anything too major. In short, another revolution against the government is most likely never going to happen. Though we have seen examples of riots and protest, it is unlikely that there will be another Civil or Revolutionary War.

In our modern world, we do disagree many times with our government. However it's not enough to spark another "American Revolution" like the one that happened in the 1700s. First, we just don't need to start fighting wars in this day and age just because of a few poor decisions made by our American government. It is understandable that everyone may have contradicting political views and statements. It won't be enough to start a rebellion throughout our nation.
Second, this point must be driven home that we, as Americans, have rights and a say in government. This contrasts to when the colonies were controlled by the British. Colonists didn't have any say in the Stamp Act or Intolerable Act back then. But luckily for us, we have the right to vote, freedom of speech, etc. Violence isn't the answer. And that's enough.

The United States of America is notorious for being the freest country in the world. The country suffered from tough history in the early stages. Enough to push them to revolt against their government (the British Parliament), marking one of the U.S.'s most well known battles, the American Revolution. Is an event like this possible to happen again? The likelihood of another big war like this occurring once more is very close to zero. As of now, the country is thriving at its current state, growing more powerful by the day, so one is so unnecessary. Though, this doesn't include the countless protests America goes through on a daily basis. It's natural to not always agree with your government, but there would be no logical reason to have another American Revolution. Therefore, another American revolution will not take place in our day and age.

In the country that we live in today, I believe it is highly doubtful that there would be a revolution against the government. I think this because the times today were not as extreme or violent as the past when the colonists were ruled under Britain. The colonists lived in a time where many people resolved problems in uncivil matters and war was sometimes inevitable. Another reason why there would be no revolution is that the government that we live with is able to listen to the ideas of the governed. The reason why the people of the Thirteen Colonies revolted was because the Parliament would not listen to them. However, today if we have grievances we can be open about it and have a voice. If the enough people can get behind your ideas you will be able to have a big impact on laws and the government. This was not what the colonists could do because Parliament gave them virtually no representation. In conclusion there is likely to be no revolution because we live in less violent times and the government can change its ways if we do not like their policies.

I say this because nowadays, our government is diverse in the fact that no matter who you believe should be the president of the United States, there is still other people associated in the government that believe in what you believe in. Also, our government is elected and made based upon what the people want, so whoever is elected into office, is who majority of the people want in there. I would agree with that statement because i believe that now our government is more flexible with the people. By saying this I mean that the government now considers what the people want and try to benefit the majority of the peoples needs. Another reason that I feel that there will not be revolution against the government is because back then people weren't as united as they are now.

I believe that it is not likely for another revolution to happen in present time. One reason that I believe would make the chance of having another revolution low is that the government and our nations are much more organized. Back then the colonies were just developing a government and democracy for the people. It was still new for them but now we have a stable government. Another reason is that the people get to take part in voting and electing the presidents. This allows the people to include their opinion and so it is more fair than it was back then. There are peaceful protests but they won't try and fight the government and therefore there most likely wont be a revolution.

The United States is a very powerful nation, and part of that is because of its strong and just government. The government plays a large part in how successful a country is and ours tries to give the people as much say as possible. Moreover, in order for a revolution to occur, something ludicrous would have to happen. As of right now, I don't think anything absurd could grow so large to an extent that a substantial conflict would form.

No because, cultures were far more violent, uproarious and ignorant. Nowadays though, with the invention of the internet people are far more informed and tranquil relative to the Revolutionary era of America. To put it simply America is more of a developed country while young America was still developing and unorganized, so today it would be highly unlikely for a completely developed country like America to devolve into revolution again

I do not believe that we would ever get to a point of creating a revolution against the government. I feel that people can still have opinions against the government, but I do not think that this would evolve into a revolution. A revolution would not happen because the government would very easily be able to shut down or stop the revolution. Today, the government has a lot of power, so if a revolution did happen, the government could stop it easily using the power that they hold.

In this time I do not believe we will get to a point of revolution against the government. I believe that most people believe that the government helps the country more than it hurts. First, the government is very powerful and could easily stop a protest. It would be much more difficult than when there were only thirteen original colonies. I believe the people that do not believe the government helps the country, know how powerful the government can be. Second, we have an affect on how the government responds or treats us. Our government now is more open and concerned about us, compared to Great Britain and the United States. Great Britain did not listen to the colonist's complaints or wants. Eventually they got tired of the taxes and laws, and eventually started a revolution. Right now, these things are not commonly created by the governments and not many things are completely ignored. I believe that their will not be a revolution because there is no need and because the government would be to strong for us to attack.

I think that there will not be another revolution. I think this because the government has changed. The government is now no longer part ruled by one person. The government is also not decided by birth rights and we are aloud to choose our president and congress. Even people protest usually they don't start a rebellion. I just believe that another revolution won't happen.

I do not think that this nation will, for now, get to a point of revolution against the government. First of all, today we have a say in some of the decisions that our government makes, such as electing a president, selecting new government officials, and changing some laws. During the 1700s, Britain did not allow the colonists to have a say in the releasing of taxes such as the Stamp Act, the Tea Act, and the Townshend Acts. Not only this, but the colonists also claimed that the British provided no reason for these unjust actions, and the slogan, "No Taxation without Representation" was brought to existence. Since we have a chance to vote and participate in some government activity, what was a major issue in the 1700s no longer applies to us today, and therefore poses no threat to the beginning of a future revolution.
Another reason why a second revolution is highly unlikely, is the strength of our government. Today's government is much more powerful and more experienced than that controlling the colonies all those years ago, and could easily snuff out a small rebellion. Also, I don't think that just fear keeps us together. I think that we all know that without a government, the nation may fall into chaos. The government helps more than it harms. We deal with small mistakes that the government makes because we know that we do need some form of leadership in the big scheme of things.

Modern Day Revolution? :Natalie La

I agree with the fact that in this day and age many are unhappy with the way the government is currently run. People disagree with our political leaders and feel that there is nothing that they can do about it. While a few systems of government are greatly flawed, it would not be enough to call for a revolution. Our current conditions do not compare to those years ago. They had tyrants ruling over them, while in comparison, we are living better lives. In modern day, we have not yet ascended to a level where revolution would be necessary. If enough people spoke out, I'm sure that society would realize and change over time. The government also holds a lot of power. They could easily shut down the protesters and lock them in jail. Either way, many of the laws passed are beneficial towards people. Forming a revolution would jeopardize our current government and leave us on our own, with no leaders. It's simply not worth it, because our situation is not as dire as those before us, and that we are living quite fortunately in comparison.

Although our nation has a certain extent of disagreement, I believe that a revolution won't be started because of this. For example, recently there has been a lot of awareness about climate change within the people of the US. However, I believe the government ignores this issue. Although it is ignored, people still find ways to stop climate change whether it be cleaning up beaches or reducing carbon emissions, the find a way to diffuse the situation. I believe that because of this, people might start relying on each other a bit more but not revolt to cause a revolution. Another example would be that there are certain disagreements in our government. Many citizens are of course upset when a vote doesn't turn out how they wanted it to or when a decision was made that they don't like. However, people accept it and move on. There isn't a reason for people to be enraged enough to start a revolution which is why I believe that the US would not go through a modern revolution.
