They urinate, rub and scratch on what they're marking.
Some animals defend their territory by fighting.
Niche- refers to the way in which an organism fits into an ecological community or ecosystem. Ex- Garden Spiders, red-winged blackbird.

The difference in Estivation and Hibernation is the state of inactivity and a low metabolic process performed by the animals during the winters is known as hibernation It is also known as winter sleep. On the contrary, when animals take rest in shady and moist place during summer, this is called estivation.

Instinct- is a natural reaction EX: a dog drolls when it sees food.
Learning Behaviors- its an individual experience, it changed his behavior EX: playing fetch
Imprinting- a early time in a animals life when it forms attachments and develops a concept of its own identity EX: a duck when its born the first thing they see they believe is their mother.
Classical Conditioning- is learning by association. EX: a type of reflex like in domestic dogs.
Trial and Error Learning- it tends to reinforce behavior
Habituation - when animals are exposed to the same stimuli repeatedly, and eventually stop responding to that stimulus.

Migration- they cant survive in their environment during times of the year so the travel south or north. EX: Birds fly south for the winter and migrate north in the summer because of the differences in temperature.
Excretion- the process of eliminating or expelling waste matter. EX: their nitrogenous waste in the form of ammonia
Camouflage- its used to protect and to catch the animals prey. EX: snakes use their skin to hide and sneak up on prey.

Carrying Capacity- species in an environment is the maximum population size of the species that the environment can sustain indefinitely, given the food, habitat, water, and other necessities available in the environment.

AIDS- is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus.
Influenza- viruses that typically infect and transmit among one animal species sometimes can cross over and cause illness in another species.
Tuberculosis- is a chronic disease of animals caused by a bacteria called Mycobacterium bovis.
Dutch Elm Disease- is caused by a member of the sac fungi (Ascomycota) affecting elm trees, and is spread by elm bark beetles.
Pfiesteria- is a genus of heterotrophic dinoflagellates that has been associated with harmful algal blooms and fish kills.

Mutualism- its where the relationship benefits both parties.
Parasitism- is where it only benefits one party and harms the other.
Predation- is a larger animal feeding off of a small animal.
Competition- is both parties are going against each other.

Keystone Species- is often a dominant predator whose removal allows a prey population to explode and often decreases overall diversity.

Pheromones- are chemical signals that have evolved for communication between members of the same species. signal elicits a specific reaction in the receiver, for example, a stereotyped behavior or a developmental process.
Courtship - display is a set of display behaviors in which an animal attempts to attract a mate and exhibit their desire to copulate.
